If any of you live in Norwich or are thinking of going to the Norwich area for something to eat. I beg of you, please stay away from Pedros. Its a Mexican restaurant situated in chapelfield gardens in the city .
I was at work yesterday and a gentleman I look after wanted to go there for lunch, my boyfriend had previously warned me about this place so the alarm bells started ringing but because it was where the person I supports choice I had to go there.
I walked in and the heat was unbearable, they had about 8 ceiling fans running but I still felt like I was actually in mexico. And its was really really dark in there, I went in there around 12:30 but I felt like I was having an evening meal. For some reason there were two fridges in the actual restaurant, one of which was blocking the main route to our table and very narrow and difficult to get a wheelchair through.
Since I'd already heard bad reviews of the food and stories of people getting ill, I thought I'd go for a safe bet. I ordered the nachos. Big mistake! They were awful! I've never had to eat nachos with a fork before but these were so soggy, that it was the only way to pick them up! they were smothered in chilli beef and cheese but the cheese was more stuck to the plate than on top of the nachos. There were jalapeƱos everywhere that looked like they were about a week old and there was salsa, sour cream and guacamole everywhere. Usually sour cream is the worst thing about nachos, but on this occasion it was the best. There was sauce everywhere and when I'd moved the food around the plate so much I could see the plate, it was swimming with grease!
I felt so sorry for the waiter, you could tell that he knew the food was shit but he was just trying to make the best of a bad situation.
I'd never been to a bad restaurant before but this one was horrendous, and it was over-priced. It felt like the place you'd go on the last night of your holiday when you don't have much money left.
It was just awful.
AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!
